Did the Ottawa Citizen screw up with its 'expose' of @vikileaks30?
@vikileaks30 is no more. Perhaps the heat generated by the Conservative organ Postmedia shut it down. Whatever. It appears that the Ottawa Citizen's detective work was highly suspect. Proved little other than a red herring but got our lazy, incompetent media on the run for a news cycle or two.
@vikileaks30 fans, don't despair. A mirror has been created, @VikiLeaksMirror. Judging from Anonymous' threat of Operation White North, the fight has only just begun.
As for Postmedia and the Canadian media, try harder suckers.

The actual content of Vic Toews's life doesn't matter to me. However, I appreciate the sudden rise of Vikileaks30 for two reasons. First, it shows how supposedly personal or private information can be put on public display against people who advocate for spying on Canadian citizens. Second, the person or people who made Vikileaks30 decided on what is newsworthy. No longer is the decision about what is newsworthy to be limited to the traditional news organizations in television, radio, and print.
