Did Paul McCartney's right-wing wife stop him smoking pot?
I found the reason Paul McCartney stopped smoking pot 'to be a better parent' to be a laughable excuse. He's been smoking pot for at least 48 years, through three marriages and five children, and the family situation has never bothered his pot habits before now.
Looking at his current wife's history, once married to a die-hard Republican and a corporate bigwig herself, you can see how she would look askance at Sir Paul's partaking. It jdoesn't look too good in the New York circles in which the McCartneys run.
Paul McCartney has been known to be whipped by his wives, most notably by the horrendous Heather Mills. So, it is not without merit to question his new-found concern over raising his youngest daughter. After marrying conservative Nancy Shevell, why now?
I don't begrudge the man making lifestyle choices. But I find it a little annoying that he has used his daughter as an excuse to quit pot. Obviously, knowing McCartney's family history, that's just not plausible. Plus, the whole "to be a better parent" bit is too much like a right-wing anti-pot talking point. The credibility is just not there.
Then again, Macca stated he had "grown out of" pot in 2004 when he announced he quit. Sure, Paul.

Why now? Because,it`s not now.Nowhere has he said he has just given it up or he`s planning to, that`s just the press trying to make it into a story. as you rightly say, he also mentioned it in 2004...and in numerous interviews before and after. Try looking into things properly before flying off the handle in reactionary blogs.
That's why this post is an interrogative. You have supplied the answer I was looking for. Thank you!
Paul McCartney is the greatest ever , if he smokes pot or not does not matter .
