Niall Ferguson cheers on war between Israel and Iran

"Hi folks, this used to be Israel. Or, was it Iran? I forgot. Oh well. Where's my paycheque?"
Or, more like an Israeli attack on Iran. The money quote:
War is an evil. But sometimes a preventive war can be a lesser evil than a policy of appeasement. The people who don’t yet know that are the ones still in denial about what a nuclear-armed Iran would end up costing us all.
It feels like the eve of some creative destruction.
These wingers are nuts. If Israel attacks Iran, it won't be just those two war-crazed countries going at it; it could be much of the rest of the world, with Canada knee-deep in the rubble.

In fairness to Ferguson, wars need cheerleaders. What would present-day Iraq be without Jeffrey Goldberg and Christopher Hitchens? Ferguson's making a fortune out of this warmongering and soothsaying. Why not stoke the fires of an already combustible situation to make a few more dollars? Because that's what it's all about, innit?

I love how he guarantees the St of Hormuz will not be closed. And people humiliated will take it out on their leaders instead of the power that defeated them. If only Hitler had blamed the Kaiser.
